    Protection for Children and Visitors

Purely (purely.art) is wholly committed to protecting the privacy of child and teen artists who have accounts and display their art on our website. Our Privacy Policy explains our partnership with parents and parental consent practices for children under age 13, practices for children 13-17 years old, and information collection and disclosure. You must be at least 13 years old to register on our website, and to participate in our contests. If you are under 13, your parents may register on your behalf. We will not knowingly accept registrations directly from children under the age of 13.

Very Important: The information you share about yourself or your child is your sole responsibility, and you should use all discretion regarding information that you share. We urge you to use discretion; Purely assumes no liability for such information.

When you manage your Artist Statement, do NOT include any information that might allow others to identify you personally. For example, this means you should make up a username that does not include your last name or geographic location, school, clubs etc., or provide other personal information on your public profile. Information you provide on your public profile is not subject to the Privacy Policy.

If you are a parent who believes that we have collected information about a child under age 13, please contact us at contact@purely.art or (616) 805-9552 with your child’s name and address, and we will be happy to delete information we have about your child from our records and provide information in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). In the event we discover we have collected information from a child in a manner inconsistent with COPPA requirements, we will either delete the information or immediately seek the parent’s consent for the collection. If we do not receive parental consent within a reasonable time, we will delete the information.

If you are a parent of a 13-17 year old teen, and do not want your child to participate in Purely’s opportunities, please contact us at contact@purely.art or (616) 805-9552. Please let us know about any concerns about our site.

We also value and protect the privacy of our website visitors. Please contact Purely at contact@purely.artcontact@purely.art if you have questions or an issue with our privacy policy or data use.

We hope you will enjoy visiting Purely, whether you are an artist or visitor. Please also review the Terms of Use detailing your agreement to the conditions for use of Purely’s website. Your use of the site means that you have agreed to the Terms of Use.

For Children Ages 3-12: For the protection of your children, Purely requires that a parent or legal guardian set up and maintain the artist account on behalf of the child. Parents must maintain confidentiality of their password, as children are not permitted to make changes, including public profiles and payment information to their accounts. We adhere strictly to the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and urge parents to visit OnGuard Online for information about COPPA, and for further information on how you can proactively protect your children’s online privacy.

For Teens Ages 13-17: For your own protection, Purely requires that you include your parent’s email address when registering your artist account, so that we may let your parents know that you will be joining the world of Purely artists, and to ask for their consent to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy in your use of our website, or to opt out of your use.

We ask for minimal information in account creation--name, birth month and year, username, and password. We only display your username and age range in your public profile (NOT your name), though you may add other information in your Artist Statement.

Again, when you manage your Artist Statement, Purely urges you NOT to include any information that might allow others to identify you personally. For example, this means you should make up a username that does not include your first or last name or geographic location, school, clubs etc., or provide other personal information on your public profile. Information you provide on your public profile is not subject to the Privacy Policy.

Part of the account creation process includes registration to receive a commission payment when merchandise bearing your art is purchased. We will pay you monthly via PayPal. To make this happen, we will ask for your PayPal email address.  If you don't already have a PayPal account, the Purely registration form will include a link for setting it up. Purely does not have or store your payment information at any time.

    Parental Choices And Controls

Parents or guardians may request that an account be closed, information be deleted, and/or that no further information about their child be collected in association with his/her account. In this case, Purely may need to terminate the account.

If we collect a teen’s information in order to reply to a question or request, we will simultaneously alert the parent via given email address.

A Purely artist account and/or personal information may deleted at any time. To delete an account email contact@purely.art.

Parents can also make a direct request to Purely to request access, edit, or delete their child’s account by reaching us at contact@purely.art. Please include the child’s username, parent’s email address and phone number. We will act within a reasonable time, and take reasonable steps to verify a parent’s identity before granting access to a child’s account.

Please contact us with questions, suggestions, or issues, by using this online form, or by reaching us at contact@purely.art or by phone (616) 805-9552. You are also welcome to write us at:

    AGES 3-12

Parents will maintain and manage their 3-12 year-olds’ accounts, and will only receive email communications from us when an unusual issue arises.

When you upload your child’s art, check the box  next to the Submit button, “I have read and agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.” One extra click, not a big deal.

    AGES 13-17

Teens, you are not bound by the same restrictions that younger artists are; however, we will just shoot your parents an email to let them know that you will create a Purely Artist account.

Parents of Teen Artists: You will receive an email notification when your artist creates a Purely account; please read the Terms of Use (including the section about Art Ownership and Licensing) and Privacy Policy. You may choose to deny permission in a reply email to the notification. Let us know you are Opting Out of the account creation. We hope, however, that you will enjoy seeing your teen’s work showcased, and take pride in their creations.

Teens, when you upload your art, check the box next to the Submit button to indicate that you have read and agree with the Terms of Use and Privacy policies.

If you later decide that your artists should not showcase their art, or receive proceeds from the sale of merchandise bearing their art, you may request that the account be closed by emailing us at contact@purely.art, or by calling us at (616) 805-9552.
